July has been amazing! So many moments. Some extremely happy, some scary. I'm very grateful and fortunate for these past month (year even!) and I'm trying to soak every minute in.

On a side note, Salam Ramadhan to all my brothers and sisters. Let this holly month guide us to become a better person and muslim. Make it count!

I'm bringing MLD back! woohoo! I'm getting way too excited for this - but then again, isnt that always the case? I like posting random movies that inspires me at that exact moment or maybe just a dvd that I recently watched. The first flick this year is Tom Ford's A Single Man.

What a fashionable movie this was. George (Colin Firth) killed it with his suits and glasses. His mid century home in the 1960s is amazing too. You can see more of it here.

But without a doubt Charley's (Julianne Moore) residence were more up my alley. It was extremely fresh and ultra feminine with ethnic prints covering the space. The art direction were done by Dan Bishop and Amy Wells - who are also Mad Men's team production and set decorator. No wonder!

She oozes effortless French chic that almost all women strive for, but not all can have. One of the elements that makes her the fashion icon that she is today is her choices of bags : the woven basket and the birkin. I'm on team basket myself. Always have and always will. I wont buy a bag that looks way too precious/expensive. I think, if you would have a heart attack over a cat scratch on your bag, that's not convenient.

However, Jane treated her Hermes Birkin like she would any other bag. She used it everyday for 5 years and took it with her on all of her travels. She decorated with stickers and beads and made it her own. If a bag could talk... the stories it could tell.

Despite the bag being named after her, she only owns four birkins. Recently one of the bag was auctioned off to help Japan's tsunami relief. The winning bid was $162,000. Now that's what you call bag investment!

Namaste! I'm back from India(unfortunately)! Here's a little video I made when I was there using my Harinezumi 2++. I quite like the vivid colours that i chose because India is heavily saturated with colours. So it's perfect. Hope it'll make you want to leave everything and book a ticket. You should!

Its been two weeks, but I still cant stop talking about India. I'm pretty sure the people close to me are disturbed by me starting every sentence with a "oh my god, in India..". Ooops. Its prolly just because my heart's still there. I'm trying to find a solid reason to go there again, so so bad. Who's with me? :)

Kate Spade is love. The brand + the lady behind it. You can never not put the word Kate Spade and happy in the same sentence. Simply can't. The two just roll together. Look at her home. Its so fun, cosy, sophisticated, and just..happy!

Wow, blogging sure takes a lot of work. No joke. but its no excuse for dissapearing for 2 whole months. Thank you oh so much for keep on coming and staying by my blog's side but, sorry for having nada updates. You guys are too good for me sometimes.

Am I the only one that's still in the new year's mood? Maybe its because im still hung up on this video of us celebrating *hehe*

A short recap : 2010 has been incredible to me. I'm so fortunate for having the opportunity to travel to amazing places like Istanbul, Melbourne and London. Oh and a lot of firsts! I worked for the first time, watched Australian Open for the first time, studied abroad for the first time, saw my fav. musical for the first time, did wall climbing for the first time, my kakyoi established her baby clothing line and found out that she's having a baby herself(!), did a road trip, watched 3 movies under the stars, tossed around inside a giant inflatable ball, saw Grace Kelly's actual dresses, erm... Oh god I seriously need to write these things down

*note to 2011self, jot down things u ~~think~~ know you'll forget*

This year, I'm keeping my resolutions to a minimal, in hope that I'll do them all.
+ manage time more efficiently
+ stay active
+ get self accepted to desired univesity
+ socialize, socialize, socialize
+ BLOG, READ, DOODLE
+ save money to travel (and a house. too big?)
+ try to have lots and lots of joie de vivre!

A Little Dinner At Home

I hosted a small dinner for my friends in celebration of the Eid Al-Fitr, two months ago. whatttt, and youre telling us noww? I know, my bad.

Soo, everyone were dressed in their best colourful traditional get-ups, ate traditional food which were home cooked (thank you mama and kakyoi), listened to 1960s malay songs, and talked until it was almost sunrise. It was so fun. I cannot wait for next year!

We visited two beautiful mosques:

1)Hagia Sophia (which used to be a church, a mosque, and now a museum)

2)The Blue Mosque.

There are no words to describe their beauties.

Our day were followed by seeing how carpets were made.

Explored around the city by foot..

and had my favourite bread with chicken fillings+cheese at a local restaurant!

Istanbul - Ferry Ride & Belly Dancing

We went on a cold ferry ride to see where Europe meets Asia.

Along the riverside, there were incredible real estates.

We wish that one of it was ours.

It doesnt even matter if its the tiniest.

Oh those manicured gardens.

Seafood was what we had for lunch. very late lunch.

We ate fresh fishes and veggies overlooking the river.

Boyh, they were the ish.

You cant go to Istanbul without seeing some belly dancing.

So thats just what we did at hodjapasha!

Hey! The last time i posted something, i was in London. A lot of things have happened before and after that. We've got a lot of catching up to do. So, lets not dilly dally and get straight to it

One More Week!

hi world, im still here. dont give up on me just yet! My classes has been good, my classmates are funny, and my summer experience so far has been lovely. I only have one more week before i go home, so ive been soaking everything in as much as a person could do in a day. That's why ive not been able to blog that much. 

My second course, which is interior styling starts tomorrow, im a new student all over again. So gotta sleep now for a fresh start, until then, Happy August!

Wish It Could Have Been Longer

My trip went shorter than we had hoped because something came up. I had the biggest misconception about Istanbul. It's not blergh or brown. It' so colourful and charming. Every corner has a sweet surprise for you. My favourite thing about the city were the food and the open restaurants decorated with mismatched furnitures.

Only time will tell, but all of us have made a pack to visit this amazing city again.

Uuuuh I've got exciting news to share with you! I'm going for a summer course for Interior design and styling which starts this Monday for a whole month. The exciting part is that its in London! :) My flight is tomorrow, and i havent even packed yet. perfect. talk to you when I'm there xx
